Objectives: This aim of this paper is to analyse different approaches for transient fault tolerance like PBS, RM-FT, FSP, BCE and MWFD. Methods: Transient faults are emerging as a critical issue in the reliability of real time systems. Besides multiprocessors being an apparent part of various booming technologies now-a-days, it becomes evident to make these systems susceptible, reliable and consistent to transient faults. Thus, to address the increasing susceptibility of multiprocessors systems to transient faults, different approaches are analysed to counter transient faults. Findings: To identify the optimal method for various constraints like slack time, reduction in time space and reconfiguration etc. Applications: This comparative analysis will help for us to identify the optimal approaches for tolerating the transient fault in critical real time systems.Keywords

The penetration and pathogenicity of five species of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN), viz., Heterorhabditis indica (isolate LN2), H. bacleriophora, Steinernema giaseri, S. riobrare and S. feltiae to the sugarcane internode borer (INB), Chilo sacchariphagus inilicus (Kapur), were studied under laboratory conditions. Significant differences were observed among mean penetration of the EPNs. The highest penetration (42.2%) was observed for the steinerncmatids, S. glaseri and S. riobrave (28.3%) and the lowest penetration for the two heterorhabditids. H. indica (5.5%) and H. bacteriophora (5.2%). In pathogenicity studies, mortality of the INB increased with increase in dosage. The borer suffered 100 per cent mortality with 40 and 50IJs of H. indica and with 50IJs larva−1 of S. glaseri. The lowest mortality (10 to 26.6%) of INB was observed at a dosage of 10IJs larva−1 of all EPNs. H. indica was found to be superior among all EPN species with an LD50 of I4.7IJs larva−1. The LD50 values for other EPNs were 17.9IJs larva−1 for S. glaseri, 24.4IJs larva−1 for H. bacteriophora, 27.5IJs larva−1 for S. riobrave and 33.1IJs larva−1 for S. feltiae.Keywords

Attempts have been made to store the puparia of the tachinid, Sturmiopsis inferens Townsend. a larval parasitoid of sugarcane moth borers at low temperatures. Storage at 5 and 10 °c adversely affected the adult emergence, fertility and longevity when the puparia were stored for 30 days. The puparia could be stored for 30 days at 15°C without any adverse effects on fly emergence, female mating and male longevity. Storage at this temperature slightly reduced tbe fertility of females. An increase in the duration of storage at 15°C resulted in the reduction of emergence, mating and fertility.Keywords

Attempts were made to simplify the culturing technique of the Tachinid parasitold, Sturmiopsis inferens Tns. The results showed that removal of chorion ensheathing the parasltold maggots before inoculation on host larva did not increase the per cent parasitisation significantly and this time consuming step in the breeding technique may be dropped. Modified King's technique in which maggots are suspended in 0.15% agar agar and allowed to find the host larva on their own was as effective as that of hand inoculation of individual host larva with parasitic maggots (Scaramuzza's technique). Both these modifications in the breeding technique enabled mass production of the parasite at reasonabte cost.Keywords

This paper aims at providing an image enhancement algorithm for digital images especially corrupted by various noises. Image restoration is a technique used to construct a composite image containing mutual and significant information from noisy source image. The novelty of this paper is implemented via applying contourlet transform as well as directional filter bank. The source image is decomposed into base and detail layers, firstly. Then, the detail layer is further decomposed by DFT filter banks to pass away noises. The denoisy detail layer is appended to the base layer of the corresponding source image to obtain noise-free source images. Finally, all the noise-free source images are fused using average fusion rule. Resulted images using our algorithm are compared with state of the art denoisy methods to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. Our proposed method outperforms the state of the art fusion method.Keywords

Detecting and tracking human in still or video images provides a promising technology development and solution to many real world problems. Moreover, detecting human may be the first step to put forward the next logical steps for many applications. But, it is a challenging task due pose, dresses, color and occlusion. This paper proposes a study of human detection in static images in different view. In the literature, numerous works had been proposed to detect a single human in an image. So, the survey has been conducted for detection of multiple humans without occlusion, detection of multiple human with occlusion and human detection in fused image. Due to the difficulties found during the process of human detection such as occlusion and shadow, people in group, main focus has been given to multiple-human detection.Keywords

Images captured under water are noisy due to various reasons. The traditional filters and novel filtering algorithms found in the literature lead to failure in preserving small scale details such as curves and textures in noise images. This paper proposes a noise removal algorithm for underwater images that uses the significant features of bilateral filter, CT (Curvelet Transform) and fusion mechanism in increasing the performance of denoised image.
